Picked up a 1400 today

I have to say the blue paint they used in 1964 is really, really ugly :-)

The arm is in great shape, the ways had been greased but not used (thank goodness) so they are totally rust free and smooth/shiny.

The table base and column base appear to be pretty darned rugged so I will have to take a closer look at Roger's writeup and see if I agree with his rating of the table and base against the 1450 base and 925 table.

First Post

Hello!

I have decided to initiate the creation of my own Frankensaw as defined by Roger Hill. What is a Frankensaw?

For me it is:
925 frame and cleats - Check
1450 Column Base - Check
1200 or 1400 Column - In the hunt
1200 or 1400 Arm - In the hunt
925 Yoke and Roller Carriage - Check
Frame 236 Motor - Check

Until I round up a 1200 or 1400 arm and column I will take my frame 236 off of my R1350, which pissed me off for the last time, and put it onto my Mothballed 925.

The R1350 will go "bye bye" and I will take the Mr Sawdust table and cleats off of it and put them onto the Frankensaw. My 925DLX will replace the R1350 as my daily driver.

This should be interesting in a comical way. When I get it together I will post pictures here.
